This is
Anomally Records

Anomally Records specializes in the curation, education and presentation of Psych, Punk and Noise Rock. Curating Hardcore, Post Punk, Stoner Rock, Prog, Sludge, No Wave, Post Hardcore, Heavy Psych, Garage and the Avant Garde music of the independent universe.

Anomally is a record label,
concert promoter, video
and media company.

1. Build infrastructure outside monopoly consolidation and uphold fair competition.

2. Build legal, financial and cultural independance.

3. Build awareness that leads audiences to demand the cutting edge.

This is made to prioritize and reward the desires of high literacy fans over casual audiences.

In New York, Los Angeles and London I lived in studio booths and film editing rooms. I shot live sessions, interviewed underground bands, cut DIY documentaries.

That’s how I learned what the indies were really like.

I needed to bring that grassroots spirit back home in Saudi Arabia. Organizing in Discord and WhatsApp groups. Flying over to meet and to understand the struggles of the bands in Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, UAE and interviewing bands from Lebanon and Morocco for the regional music press. Vetting and only finding a tiny orbit of serious artists who still believed that visionary and honest music is more important than celebrity status.

We started from a spirit of resistance.

People kept asking:
“When will you finally do something?ˮ
So we built a solid foundation:

  • Relations with bands & honest music journalists

  • High-grade mixing engineers

  • Film production pipelines

  • Vinyl, CD and cassette manufacturing with the best factories and design teams

  • Website with store, ticketing, music streaming, video streaming, editorial blog and community

  • Airtight legal frameworks

  • Accountants who understand royalty split chaos

And an editorial arm dedicated to correcting the record on rock history, standing up for todayʼs indie bands, and challenging the narratives that misrepresent rock and roll to the public.

Saudi Arabia

Events and service base that ties it all together

We’ve recorded performances in
Saudi Arabia, the USA and Georgia.

Next: Bands from Lebanon, Morocco and the Arab diaspora.

And we’re working with bands from everywhere:
Palestine, Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, Bahrain, UAE, Poland, Romania, Indonesia, China, Korea, Japan, France, the UK and more…

We’re archiving
the best independent
bands at their peak.

Live, honest and still passionate before the machine of the majors misframes it, misplaces it, tames it, and eventually pressures it to shape shift into mediocrity and formula.

We aligned with the people
who still passionately champion
the rock indies.
